Overview

Taqueria Los Compadres, nestled at 2427 Crain Hwy in Waldorf, MD, offers an authentic Mexican dining experience that embraces both tradition and flavor. This vibrant taqueria showcases a diverse menu spotlighting classic dishes such as beef, pork, chicken, and fish tacos, alongside Mexican staples like menudo, pozole rico, and fajita texana mixta. The commitment to authentic flavors is evident in their antojitos mexicanos, from crunchy sopes and huaraches to flavorful pupusas de loroco, satisfying cravings for rich, comforting bites.

The dining setup at Taqueria Los Compadres is casual and lively, with a buzz that comes from both dine-in guests and eager takeout orders. Customers appreciate the freshness and generous portions presented, particularly in the tacos, though some have noted seasoning could be enhanced in certain meats. The ordering process is unique—you line up at the register, place your order, and then find a table, which reflects a fast-casual style that suits those wanting a quick yet satisfying meal.

The restaurant’s space is designed to accommodate those seeking a communal atmosphere where families, friends, and individuals can enjoy authentic Hispanic cuisine reminiscent of home. Its appeal is strong among the local Hispanic community and those yearning for genuine Mexican flavors close to home. The separate bar area enhances the experience with a selection of beverages like house margaritas, micheladas, mangonadas, and a variety of Jarritos soft drinks, bringing balance to the savory dishes.

While the service is generally friendly and efficient, some patrons have observed language barriers that impact staff interactions, emphasizing the taqueria’s deep cultural roots. Bathrooms maintain a clean standard, and the overall ambience is warm and inviting despite busy hours. It’s worth noting that unlike many Mexican eateries, chips and salsa are not complimentary, so ordering sides like guacamole, nopal, or fried plantains complements the meal well.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch, an evening meal with friends, or a comforting taste of home, this spot delivers a memorable culinary journey through its vibrant menu and authentic spirit.

First time visiting. Very good service. Everyone was very friendly. The food was okay, I tried four different types of tacos. They all had good portions and full of meat but the steak needs more seasoning. They also need salsa or taco sauce as I was not a fan of the sauce that was given. One of them was very bland the other was just spicy but neither was flavorful. I tried the mangomargarita It was delicious but it was a bit over priced once I got the bill. They don't have any specials or happy hour which was strange for a bar and they don't have prices posted so really could have been charged anything. I would visit again.

I had the flower & black bean & cheese papusa which were very tasty and my friend had the Mofongo soup and he said it was delicious. The only issue I had was the wait staff is rude unless you speak Spanish which my friend does so I was ignored placing the order until he spoke Spanish and asked that my order be taken.

Tacos are pricey for a single tortilla but that's just me being used to always having 2 tortillas at other places. The food was delicious and they give you an assortment of salsas and pickled onions with havaneros. You do not just sit down and get your order taken you actually have to line up and order at the register then pay for your food and get a table. I was happy to see many different flavors of Jarritos and the restaurant also has botanas like elotes, ice cream, fried chips and a separate bar area. Both times I've been there I've noticed it's been very busy but I've always gotten a good table because most of the line was for To go Orders . Does not offer chips or salsa like other restaurants so make sure to order those. I would definitely had given a 5 stars if I didn't have to get up and wait in line to order my food but again that's what I'm used to at restaurants like these.

My father and I come here every once in a while to get authentic Hispanic food that we dearly miss from our old home- it’s always lovely to have a place to go to near our home. We enjoy this place and believe the customer service is pretty nice too.
